I enjoyed our class today, especially the discussion about globalization, human rights and family law; you raised many important and interesting points. I also think the three small groups were able to develop, in a very short period of time, good approaches to the question of Ami's and Ratna's marriage. If you are interested, here you can find the complete text of the Indian legislation you considered when thinking about this issue: The Child Marriage Restraint Act, 1929 and The Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006. Also, here you can find the complete text of the Convention on Celebration and Recognition of the Validity of Marriages. The readings for next week's session (Family Law, Reform, and Equality) can be accessed here, as well as through the links at the right hand column of the blog. I look forward to our discussion next Wednesday!
